Ag nerds, gather around your newspaper (or computer) for some insightful information on today’s U.S. agriculture community.
These statistics come from the U.S. Census of Agriculture, released earlier this year and taken every five years by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The census is based on information gathered in 2012 and gives the scoop on crops, plants, livestock, animals, farms, and farm operators in more than 3,000 U.S. counties, according to a National Agriculture Statistics Service press release.
