A Tsunami of Strawberries – creating a connected life

One day’s picking – 12 litres!

Two years ago, a friend gave me a dozen bare-root strawberry plants because her order had more plants in it than she needed. I really didn’t have any room for them, but who says “No, thanks” to free strawberry plants? So I planted them along the fence at the back of my garden (which is roughly 24′ by 40′), in between the compost bin and the water barrel. The rest of my garden had been planted already, so the row of strawberry plants eliminated most of the walk-way between the fence and the other plants. But they grew and were happy there. They only produced a handful of berries that year, but that’s all I expect…..
