Rewilding in the UK | Animal Ethics and Law Blog

The project of rewilding the UK took a step forward (or back, depending on your view)  with moves towards  the reintroduction of the Lynx.  Rewilding is a complex concept because it involves threads of science (“trophic cadence”), ethics (something like Aldo Leopold’s “land ethic”) and aesthetics (certain kinds of experiences of nature are more pleasant than others) which it is difficult to disentangle.  Different advocates emphasise different elements.
