Queen Cells and Drone Comb – Telling the Bees

Rachel So, 12 days after introducing a frame of eggs and larvae to our failing St. John’s hive, we had a look inside to see if they were raising a queen/queens from one or more of the eggs. We found a capped queen cell and an uncapped one, which on the one hand is good news – it’s what we were hoping for. But on the other hand neither looked of very high quality.
