Although we like our lifestyle of permanent tourists, we occasionally enjoy a routine with purposeful activities. We used HelpX.net to find volunteer opportunities with the idea that we would work or “help” in exchange for food and accommodation. We found so many opportunities on the HelpX website ranging from nanny positions to helping a stroke victim with daily activities to organic farming. Helping on a farm just happens to be the most convenient way for travelers to volunteer in Australia since there are loads of farms with no shortage of work to be done.
