The purpose of dedicating a month of blog posts to soil awareness is to make the point that there are really important connections between us and the ground we walk on. We humans tend to protect what we understand and relate to. With a deeper appreciation of the effects of soil health on our own health, we begin to build a stronger case for better and more education around both.
I enjoyed this recent post the University of Vermont Food Feed, which drives home my point. I love that it’s an article about soil authored by a medical doctor in the field of public health – what a great connection!
